Idk where you're getting your info from but this is a NATO expansion thing, not a "psycho wants to destroy the world just to do whatever he wants whenever" thing... we've known for decades this is a crucial issue for long-term security in Moscow. The US got the response, I think many wanted, and the people of Ukraine are paying the price.
