Why Most Prices Will Never Come Back Down

These things only ratchet in one direction — and I finally saw a mainstream media outlet cover the cause

Corporate media is woefully inadequate. The mainstream press is mainly used to gatekeep what people can be on and ‘taken seriously’ while selectively covering issues, ignoring ones that don’t align with their ideology, and legitimizing pro-corporate solutions. A problem’s importance is gauged by few metrics other than ‘are the big three-letter-combo news machines covering it?’

The same goes for individuals. True dissenting voices are not invited, pushed to independent media, and then the fact that they’re only on small outlets is used as further evidence of their unimportance.

The corporate censorship and control of our media is a neat little sleight of hand. Luckily, independent media is having a bit of a renaissance.

I’ve been following the Substack BIG by Matt Stoller, who’s the director of research at the American Economic Liberties Project, for a while now. He mostly writes on monopolization and market concentration, and throughout COVID, he’s been giving valuable pushback to the mainstream narrative surrounding inflation, mainly that the evil government gave too much free money to the peasants, who now are spending like…
