What is the solution is the million dollar question, Michelle! Americans are in a bind having to choose between two corporate-owned parties and a third-party option would guarantee a win for the other side.

I agree Trump's uber-unhealthy ways should be catching up to him any day now. We'll see how it plays out and it'd be suuuuper interesting to see who takes over as the leader of the party when he's gone.

As far as demographics go, people have been saying the Republicans have a dying voter base and in some ways it is true, but Trump did get increased votes from many minority groups in '20 compared to '16. That trend could continue because Republicans are positioning themselves as "working-class heroes."
