To a degree, that is fair. There's an element of trust in believing anything is true beyond our first-hand experiences, and even those can be deceiving. I haven't lived in the states for almost eight years and don't consume any mainstream media. I get my news from independant journalists, who undoubtedly have their own perspective through which they are seeing world events, but who usually analyze and breakdown the common media narratives coming from both silos. I try not to identify too strongly with a "team," and because of that I was able to have awesome conversations with everyone and anyone in Michigan.
