This type of journalism would never be allowed in today’s mainstream media

This one might catch some flack, but remember these are articles straight from The Guardian. John Pilger, by any measurement, is a great journalist. He's been winning awards since the 1960s, won Britain’s highest award for journalism twice, has been International Reporter of the Year, News Reporter of the Year, and Descriptive Writer of the Year. He’s made over sixty documentaries, has an Emmy on his record, a BAFTA the Royal Television Society prize, and the Sydney Peace Prize. His ‘Cambodia Year Zero’ is named one of the ten most important films of the 20th century.

The man has been prolific and dogged in his pursuit of the truth. Pilger is the type of journalist one would expect to see with weekly columns in important newspapers and making regular appearances on television news breaking down the state of the world.

But he’s not. Journalists like him, Chris Hedges, and others are explicitly kept away from mainstream consciousness.

Because our media is not in the pursuit of truth; the role of the Western press is to defend and perpetuate status quo narratives.
