That's the debate right. There will always be guard rails. The discussion starts at where are they, who is putting them there, how transparent are the rules, and how can we democratically change them if we want. Right now all of those decisions are being made in back rooms by tech companies and intelligence agencies and we have no idea what the terrain is and can't really influece much.

I do know lists and lists of real journalists being silenced at the moment because that's what an opaque unaccountable censorship regime will do every time.
