It wasn’t that long ago that Dan Crenshaw was seen as the potential future of the Republican Party. He’s young, a veteran, and had the composure and confidence that comes from being a Navy Seal. It makes sense that he’d be seen as a potential party frontman.

Unfortunately for him, a couple of things happened. First, he made it very clear to the public that he’s not a natural at the game of politics. The other thing was Republicans couldn’t remove Donald Trump's tiny-handed grip from their even smaller cojones. The party tried many times to shake him loose, but they’ve lost control of the paranoid voting block they helped create, and Trumpism remains the law of the land. Any and all decisions have to go through the Don.

Republican lawmakers that march in lockstep behind Trump, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and Matt Gaetz, get all the attention and support of the base. Their popularity and influence in the party soared right by the likes of Dan Crenshaw or Marco Rubio.

I suspect that has left a sour taste in Crenshaw’s mouth because his media appearances have been getting worse by the month.

His Joe Rogan interview a few years back clearly showed he wasn’t super deep and hadn’t thought much about what he was saying in terms of socialism, public goods, or the economy — I’m not the biggest Rogan fan, but I love when conservatives like Dave Rubin, Jordan Peterson, or Candace Owens go on JRE and completely expose themselves in a friendly interview.

After being kind of embarrassed by a comedian asking very simple questions, I assumed Crenshaw would read up and get some more media training.

To be fair, he could have done his homework and read more, but he clearly didn’t get that media training or improve at the game of politics.

This last week very clearly showed that.

Republican lawmakers that march in lockstep behind Trump, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and Matt Gaetz, get all…
