Not wrong to point it out at all, Andrew. Thanks for the read and the discourse.
Is cancel culture a problem? Sure. Is it our gravest issue? No way. Is it only a left-wing phenomenon? Not at all. While I agree there are some, who identify as lefties, that are too quick to tear people down, end discussions, and “cancel,” it happens everywhere and from all directions. People on the left get canceled all the time, but there is not the same well-funded media apparatus like Breitbart and other outlets that actively search for these incidents and amplify them to a national level. There’s a funding asymmetry that gives the appearance of right-wingers being innocent victims.
That being said, challenging power and prevailing ideologies has been — and always will be — a risky endeavor to one degree or another.
