JP himself is very clearly in the "victim" demo. Half his job is wailing about how other people are acting towards him and right wingers.
As far as the short stories, I haven't read 'em so can't speak to that. My intuition says you might be overreacting. More demographics are getting representation in all forms of media. Can it be disproportional on occasion? Sure. That doesn't mean "we" are under attack; it simply means we're in the process of a course correction. The white male perspective would have been all 21 of those stories for most of the history of America. There's a lot of making up to do and rights to be wronged. It wasn't long ago candidate Obama didn't support gay marriage, homosexuality would cost one their job, and England killed it's premier mathematician for who he was. I always like to think about how far we've come in just my grandmother's lifetime on these issues. It's awesome, inspirational, and the leading edge always makes people uncomfortable.
Thanks for the read and the words, Michael.
