It’s crazy to me how much the media is trying its best to spin the current situation in our favor and pretend that everything is working out. It is even crazier to me how many people swallow every narrative whole. After WMDs, how the hell do these institutions still have this level of credibility in the eyes of people? After that invasion-creating fabrication, we should take everything we’re told with the fattest grain of salt — especially during wartime.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say a mad number of retractions will need to be made and Medium articles quietly deleted by armchair generals, mathematicians using ideologically narrow faulty-ass inputs, and wannabe macro-economists regarding the current conflict.

I myself am a wannabe economist and look at the media through a very very very skeptical lens. Maybe I’ll end up being way off base, but I try my best to take a rational approach, listen to outside-the-mainstream experts and media analysts, and try to understand the underlying incentives on both sides of whatever issue.
