Too often these days, the dystopian headline says it all
The hellscape that is working at an Amazon warehouse continues to get headlines but nowhere near enough condemnation from lawmakers or the media. They don’t use the proper language of blatant exploitation, breaking the law, political influence, outright corruption, oligarchy, or feudal inequality, and instead, Jeff Bezos still widely gets positive coverage and white-glove treatment as he does a ridiculous conference on ‘future innovation’ or some other big business pat-on-the-back-branding exercise posing as a ‘discussion of solutions.’
The fact that corporations can violate federal labor laws at will is such an indictment of the two-tiered US justice system and exposes the complete bullsh*t of our ‘rule of law.’
Imagine if the media treated wage theft or illegal anti-union activities with the same moral panic they have when poor mothers aren’t ringing up every pack of diapers or container of baby formula.
