Eisenhower did but then we learned from the Pentagon Papers everyone else lied and said it was fine. Vietnam was meaningless to America so there was no point and it was unwinnable. Crimea, the Donbas, and access to the Black Sea are existential issues for Russia. They’re not just going to back out.
