Dude, what on earth? If you're being robbed do you have the right for the police to come? The police are a good/service, forcing them to help is a violation of the polices' rights! Are we violating firemens’ rights when our houses are on fire and we need help? It's their job dude. They receive a wage from taxpayers and provide a service. In the healthcare case, citizens pay taxes and the government is the insurer. Every other country has made a public health care option similar. This free market fundamentalism is so bananas, man.
Of course health care is a human right, dude. Think about the argument you’re making. Children with rare diseases and poor people with cancer deserve to die if they can’t pay for their treatment or doctor services on the “open marketplace?” But, socialized medicine is somehow “immoral?”
America let's 40,000 people die every year due to lack of insurance. The #1 cause of bankruptcy is medical debt. Neither happen in countries with "socialized medicine." Does anybody do it perfectly? No, but jesus, the last thing America needs anywhere is more "free markets," especially in it's health system. And, who funds 90% of any positive related point you made about the States' system like tech and R&D?? The NIH aka the freaking government yo.
Americans deserve a tiny bit of dignity, and that includes a decent public health option like any other modern nation on earth, not simply bombs, fat corporate subsidies, and bailouts while everyone bows to the 'free market gods,' pretending free markets actually exist.
